SFG (Sum Frequency Generation) Spectroscopy System

Non-destructive and non-contact analysis of molecular vibrations on surfaces (interfaces) of solids, liquids, and gases is possible; demo measurements are now being accepted.

SFG (Sum Frequency Generation) spectroscopy is a vibrational spectroscopy method that utilizes second-order nonlinear optical effects. This spectroscopy method has high interfacial selectivity, allowing for the analysis of the molecular vibrational structure and orientation of monolayers at surfaces or interfaces. By sweeping the wavelength of infrared light across the surface (or interface) and measuring, molecules can be identified from the spectrum, and by changing the polarization of the incident and emitted light, the molecular arrangement can be measured. The wavelength range of infrared light is 4300 to 625 cm^-1 (2.3 μm to 16 μm), with a resolution of less than 6 cm^-1. There are also Phase-Sensitive SFG modules and SFG microscope modules that can measure phase and intensity. Our company is the exclusive distributor in Japan for EKSPLA's SFG spectroscopy systems.
